Founded in the first Turn of the first Pass, it was founded out of necessity by the Nimbus Caravan's since deceased leader. Within three months, his daughter, Innisvella Kohrvett ("Vett") took over the Caravan, and thus assumed leadership of "Cloudhaven" as well. It was under her leadership that she got Cloudhaven bumped up to the status of a Holding by encouraging two other Caravans to join them so that they could build a proper Hold, and have time to actually make travel and trade possible again. Since then, she's given the Hold's "Lordship" to her younger brother, Landon, and his wife Kacia.
In its first turn, Thread claimed the lives of half of Cloudhaven's "residents," including the man who brought them to the valley. After that, however, Vett brought in two other Caravans worth of men and women, and within 18 months brought up a right holding. In its third turn, Vett began to introduce the concept of a "year-round Gather" of sorts to the people, in order to be able to afford the living costs at a Hold where there was not much land for farming. Before long, a Beastcraft Minor-Hall was founded within the confines of Cloudhaven Hold, and they had begun a project with the Caravaner runners to breed runners of better endurance that could do all the work of a labor beast without dying.
Now, Cloudhaven is thriving with a winter population of nearly Yamaric's size, its Summer population one half that (as the Caravans are out on route). There is usually one of three Caravans out each Winter, though when all three are at the Hold, then the population swells to be just over Yamaric Hold's population.
