Yamaric Hold was founded ten turns before the sudden collapse of High Reaches Weyr by two brothers, the senior of which was Yamor and the junior, Arik. Originally named Yamor-Arik Hold, the two brothers took care of the Hold together as Co-Lords. When Arik's wife gave birth to a son, giving Yamor-Arik Hold an heir. This caused a dispute, however, between Yamor and Arik. Yamor's wife was pregnant when Arik's son, Alordan, was born, and Yamor wanted his child to be heir, regardless of gender. Before long, the dispute became extremely serious.
The two wives, Marcenna and Kirrim, attempted to end the dispute for their husbands by leaving some weeks later, shortly after Marcenna gave birth to Yamor's daughter, Aramea. Having taken their children with them, the two women had no doubt that Yamor and Arik would have to end their fighting, else they would never return.
Several turns later, after Crystal Waters Weyr was established, the two brothers finally reconciled. It had been twelve turns since their wives had left, and indeed they wanted to see their children, as well as their wives. Word spread around the region, and finally Marcenna and Kirrim reappeared with their children, now nearly teenagers. Though the marriages were never truly reconciled, the four now were able to raise their children together, at the very least, with a great deal of difficulty. As a strangely blended family, the two Lord Holders and their wives decided to continue the dual-leadership of Yamor-Arik Hold.
Aramea and Alordan were not eager to take over Yamor-Arik Hold's leadership, and did their best to do poorly in their studies. One day, when the two "heirs" were 17, they disappeared. They had run off to Crystal Waters Weyr to watch a Hatching. Much to everyone's surprise (and frustration) both of the teenagers Impressed, and both to greens. To Aramea, Jemarth, and to Al'dan, Vinesath.
In a scramble to find a new heir, Yamor and Arik went in search of their youngest sister, Oranna, to see if the Master Healer living on the Western Continent had a son or daughter that would be willing to take on the Hold. She sent her daughter, Naranor, who would be the first Lady Holder of Yamor-Arik Hold.
Other than the earliest days of Yamaric Hold, Holdlife has been fairly uneventful, save that Yamor-Arik Hold was much too tedious to say and that Lord Keitar renamed it to Yamaric some thirty five turns prior to the present day.
