Siarene's Rebellion Siarene of Gold Galioth has been suffering under Weyrwoman Thaira now for very nearly too long.
After Siarene's elder sister, Relena of Gold Heliath, badgered Thaira nonstop for the position of Sr. Weyrwoman. Relena had been absolutely ruthless in her persistence, and Thaira, already paranoid and power-hungry, responded with hatred for Relena and the rest of Siarene's family. When Heliath died in her second Flight (Siarene was very near to twelve), Thaira rejoiced. In fact, Thaira even had the gall to go to Relena and her family while the woman was in mourning and laugh in their face.
Siarene had made the determination never to Stand at that time, but Relena insisted. When Siarene Impressed Galioth, her own "Life on the Red Star" began. Thaira has done her absolute best to keep Siarene down-trodden. Galioth is not entirely a queen for it, and in fact often takes orders from other dragons, regardless of rank. Siarene is fed up. Her dragon is suffering, she is suffering, her family is suffering. She never asked for such treatment, and she does not want to be Senior Weyrwoman anywhere, anytime, no matter what. Instead, she plans to leave Crystal Waters Weyr, and has been quietly gathering up followers who might go with her.
Among those who are interested is Akayla, who has been repeatedly insulted by Thaira since she stepped down from her provisional Weyrwomanship.
